Project Implicit Bias Test

Project Implicit allows users to explore their conscious and unconscious biases on various topics, such as pets, political issues, ethnic groups, sports teams, and music styles. Each test is approximately 10 minutes and by participating, users contribute to psychological research on biases.

By logging on to Implicit Bias Test, you can begin taking these tests. There is an option to login but login is not mandatory. Because Project Implicit is a non-profit organisation, there are no membership fees but there is an option to donate to the project.

For each test, you will be asked to provide information on you Demographic (gender, religion, age group, etc.) but you have the option to not to answer.

You'll also be asked about different personal preferences.

Here comes the fun part of test! For this part, it is suggested that you close out any tabs and remove yourself from anything that can be a distraction because you have to focus. You're given instructions on which letter on your keyboard represents two different groups. For example, I represents light skinned people, E represents dark-skinned people; I represents negative words, E represents positive words. As they flash on the screen you have to press those keys as fast as you can and you'll be corrected whenever you make a mistake.
At the end of your test, you'll be directed to your results page, where you'll see your results and the average of everyone who has taken the test.
I had a great time using this tool! It's free, easily accessible and user friendly. I especially recommend this tool for HRD professionals because I think this is a great way to discover different biases that you may be unaware that you even have.
